Car strikes tree along Route 38
CONCORD TWP — The driver of a car that crashed into a tree Wednesday along Route 38 was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital.
The man, whose identity has not been released, fell asleep at the wheel and then veered off the road when he was headed north on Route 38 about 2:30 p.m., according to police at the scene.
His silver Cadillac crashed into a tree, and his driver-side door was stuck, requiring assistance from the North Washington Volunteer Fire Department, said Ryan Enscoe, assistant chief.
The man had an injury of unknown severity, but Enscoe said it was likely minor. The man also reported having chest pains.
Police said charges are pending. No other people were involved in the accident.
