11:41 a.m. Tuesday — James S. Boanes, 48, of Grove City is accused of breaking into two vehicles at Schneider's Heating on Pillow Street and taking tools.Awitness provided a description of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving. Officers found the defendant at Memorial Park. The business' stolen tools, valued at $1,500, were found inside Boanes' vehicle.He was arraigned on charges of theft and receiving stolen property, and placed in the Butler CountyPrison on $15,000 bond.Police, meanwhile, are seeking the unknown owners of other hand tools and power tools also recovered from Boanes' vehicle. Police believe those tools were stolen sometime Tuesday in the Butler area. For information, call police at 724-287-7743.3:02 p.m. Monday — Arch A. Everetts, 44, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence at South Chestnut and West Diamond streets. Everetts also was cited for driving with a suspended license and an open container violation.1:40 a.m. Monday — Michael G. Baptiste, 22, of Oakland Township was arrested for DUI on East Cunningham Street. Baptiste also was cited for not obeying a traffic control device and a lighting violation.Monday — Police filed charges against Janell Jenkins, 27, of Butler for allegedly trying to illegally obtain prescription drugs last year.Jenkins on June 20, according to court documents, changed a physician's prescription for a weight-loss drug to include painkillers. She is accused of attempting to pass the altered prescription at the Medicine Shoppe on Pillow Street.She is charged with attempted acquisition of a controlled substance by misrepresentation.In another case, Butler police charged her with acquisition of a controlled substance by misrepresentation after she passed a bogus prescription on June 4 at the same pharmacy for 60 Vicodin pills.Saturday — Three vehicles were reportedly broken into overnight at homes on Center Avenue. In one of the cases, a satellite radio valued at $100 was stolen from one of two vehicles at Scott Murray's home. Nothing was taken from the other vehicle.Martin Dellen, in the other theft, told police that 30 compact discs valued at $450 in two cases were taken from his car. One of the CDcases with 10 CDs in it was recovered late Saturday night on Center Avenue.12:11 a.m. Dec. 24 — Avan driven by James Pryor, 33, of Butler struck a car parked on ice-covered American Avenue. The car, owned by Misty Plunkard of Butler, was pushed into a utility pole. Pryor was cited for driving with a suspended license.
7:12 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Harry Abbott III, 44, of Vandergrift, Westmoreland County, struck the rear of another car on Route 28 in Harmar Township, Allegheny County.The collision forced the rear-ended car, driven by Marcie J. Baker, 36, of Ford City into the back of a pickup truck driven by Sean M. Jack, 19, of Sarver. Abbott was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
4:21 p.m. Sunday — Christopher Banks, 28, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he was found passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle on New Castle Road at Moraine Pointe Plaza.
