Norman E. Tarr

Norman E. Tarr, 91, of Renfrew passed away at 9:08 p.m. Wednesday at the Hubbard Hospice House West in South Charleston, W.Va.

He was born April 14, 1921, in Venango County, to the late Budd L. Tarr and Mary Smith Tarr.

Mr. Tarr retired in 1982 from Bessemer and Lake Erie Railroad as a car inspector. He was a member of the Mars Christian Missionary Alliance Church. He enjoyed gardening.

Mr. Tarr is survived by two sons, Robert Tarr and his wife, Carol, of Leesburg, Fla., and Randy Tarr and his wife, Janet, of Charleston, W.Va.; one daughter, Mary Alice (Tarr) Connor and her husband, Robert, of Leesburg, Fla.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Winifred Andre of Southern Pines, N.C.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. Tarr, who he married Sept. 22, 1945, and who passed away March 14, 1987, and two sisters.

TARR — Friends of Norman E. Tarr, who passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, will be received at

Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Jeffery L.
