SAXONBURG — Joe Baker of Brackenridge shot a double eagle recently at Saxon Golf Course.

He performed the feat on the par-5, 381-yard hole.

CLEARFIELD — Kelsey Lutz, 17, and Leiah Maloney, 15, of Cranberry Township were recently named Female Black Belt Regional Grand Champions of their respective divisions at the World Tang Soo Do Association's Region 22 Championships in Clearfield.Lutz won the youth division title last year, but stepped up to the adult division (ages 17-34) this year and earned first place medals in weapons, forms and sparring. Maloney won the youth division by finishing first in weapons and forms, second in sparring.Lutz and Maloney are second degree black belts and have been training since 2004 and 2005, respectively, with Keystone Martial Arts out of the Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA in Cranberry.

HUNTINGDON — Seneca Valley graduate and Juniata College sophomore volleyball player Chad Albert has been named second team Division III All-America by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.Juniata (27-4) is ranked No. 3 nationally and is competing in the Division III national tournament.

JACKSON TWP — Seneca Valley senior defensive lineman Steve Gaviglia will play in the 13th annual PSFCA East-West Football All-Star Game May 4 at Franklin Regional High School.Kickoff is at 2 p.m.The 6-foot-2, 275-pound Gaviglia will continue his academic and football career this fall at Slippery Rock University.

MIAMI — Earl Morrall, an NFL quarterback for 21 years who started nine games during the Miami Dolphins' perfect season in 1972, has died at age 79.The Dolphins confirmed Morrall's death. When Bob Griese broke his ankle in 1972, Morrall came off the bench and started the final nine games of the regular season for the Dolphins. Morrall also played for the 49ers, Steelers, Lions, Giants and Colts.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Cam Newton is now under contract with the Carolina Panthers for the next two seasons.The Panthers exercised the fifth-year option on Newton's contract, meaning the former No. 1 draft pick will be with the team at least through the end of the 2015 season. The team made the announcement after previously indicating it hoped to sign Newton to a long-term deal.
