The Little League tournament season is under way.

Butler Township sent two teams in the Pennsylvania Section 1 Tournament in 10U and Majors, which is the age group that can advance to Williamsport and the Little League World Series.

Butler, however, was eliminated in both tournaments this week. The Majors team dropped both of its games, the first 8-4 to eventual champion French Creek. The 10U team won its opener, 7-3 over LeBoeuf, but lost to eventual championship opponents St. Marys and FCVA in the next two rounds.

The state championships will be held July 27 through Aug. 2.
