3:11 p.m. Thursday — Mark C. Schmidt, 28, of Butler was charged with cruelty to animals after two dogs were found abandoned at his former address, 111 Walker Ave.Thursday — Jason Thomas Hirsch, 25, of Butler was charged with possession of a controlled substance by an unauthorized person and possession of drug paraphernalia after police serving an arrest warrant at his residence allegedly found empty stamp bags of heroin and an OxyContin pill. Christina M. Williams, 23, no known address, was arrested on warrants from Butler and Allegheny counties in the same incident.9:18 a.m. Wednesday — Wesley M. Gibson Jr., 30, of Lyndora was charged with retail theft, false ID to law enforcement and criminal trespass after he allegedly took $63 worth of items from Kmart in Pullman Square without paying. Gibson was previously cited for retail theft at the same location in August.
3:07 a.m. Friday — An SUVdriven by Andrew J. Osche, 18, of Fenelton crashed into a tree along Donaldson Road near Murray Lane in Donegal Township. Osche was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries and was cited for driving too fast for conditions.4:08 p.m. Thursday — Garrett Mauthe, 33, of Bruin was charged with driving under the influence after police received a call about a possible medical emergency at the corner of Christy Hill and Bruin roads in Parker Township.4:05 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Jean Dawn Fritz, 37, of Natrona Heights crashed into a snow embankment along Bonniebrook Road near Archie Lane in Jefferson Township. Fritz was not injured.7:30 p.m. Wednesday — Someone stole six traffic cones valued at $60 and belonging to Robert Hovis of Harrisville from the alley behind West Mercer Street in Harrisville between 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.1:48 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Jennifer N. Cowan, 22, of Butler crashed into a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Cowan was not injured and was cited for multiple vehicle code violations.11:20 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Ashley M. Neurohr, 18, of Butler crashed into a utility pole along Keck Road in Jefferson Township. Neurohr was not injured and was cited for driving vehicle at unsafe speed.4:30 a.m. Wednesday — Someone entered a truck belonging to David Allen Garis of East Butler on 7th Street in East Butler, stealing $50 in cash.11:12 p.m. Tuesday — Jason Scott Coulter, 31, of Oil City was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 68 in Butler city.7 a.m. Dec 4. — Someone stole a Champion 10,000-pound pull winch from the back of a truck belonging to Ronald Claypool of Butler along Cherry Road in Fairview Township between 6 p.m. Dec. 3 and 7 a.m. Dec. 4.7 p.m. Dec. 2 — Jacob J. Ruhle, 57, of Pittsburgh was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic accident on Interstate 79 in Worth Township.
