Pest checks set for apartments
A confirmed case of bed bugs at Cliffside Apartments will lead to random pest inspections on Friday.
“We’re looking into it,” said Michael McNierney, interim executive director of the Butler County Housing Authority.
The inspections by Ehrlich Pest Control will take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Residents were notified Tuesday of the case and planned inspections. McNierney could not say how many cases of bed bugs could be there, but said there is at least one confirmed case.
The apartment building on South McKean Street has 68 apartments.
Fly-in scheduled at county airport
The annual Young Eagle Fly-in will be held June 13 at the Butler County Airport. The event is hosted by EAA Chapter 857. Children ages 8 to 17 will have the opportunity to fly in an airplane and learn what happens before, during and after takeoff.
The EAA chapter will host breakfast and lunch fundraisers. It will send four children to the Air Academy in Oshkosh, Wis. The event begins at 10 a.m. and lasts until 2 p.m.
