8:30 p.m. Sunday — John Wise, 33, of Fenelton was arrested following a hit-and-run crash on Wattersonville Road in Sugarcreek Township. Police said Wise was driving a car that skidded on ice and hit a utility pole.He left the crash site and was given a ride to his home. Police suspect Wise was drinking and charges are pending. He was placed in the Armstrong County Jail for a probation violation.3:10 a.m. Saturday — Robert C. Florian, 22, of Sellersville, Bucks County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 near Route 422 in North Buffalo Township.

6:54 a.m. Friday — Michael J. Hack III, 49, of Summit Township was charged with possession of a controlled substance and public drunkenness after police found him apparently passed out in a sport utility vehicle in the Knights of Columbus parking lot on East North Street.Officers, after repeated attempts, were able to rouse Hack, who was taken into custody for public intoxication. While being searched, police allegedly found him with a folded piece of paper containing suspected cocaine residue.4:23 p.m. Thursday — An SUV driven by John Halagich, 32, of Summit Township and a pickup truck driven by Thomas Bowser, 70, of Franklin Township collided at Pillow and Cunningham streets. Nichole Saeler, 35, of Summit Township, a passenger in the SUV, suffered unknown injuries.2:45 p.m. Wednesday — Jaqueline Naegeotte, 31, of East Butler lost control of her pickup on Kittanning Street while rounding a bend near the city street department's garage. The pickup hit a snowbank and then collided with an SUV driven by Suzanne Weiland, 71, of Summit Township.

1:42 a.m. Saturday — Gary Rettig Jr. 34, of Prospect was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he was spotted doing "donuts" in a fast-food restaurant parking lot on Route 8 South. Police said in addition to DUI, Rettig faces charges for driving without registration, a lane violation, making an illegal turn and an open container violation.2:28 p.m. Wednesday — A vehicle driven by Duane Thompson, 62, of Butler slid on the snow on Route 8 in front of the Great Butler Mart, and struck a vehicle driven by Kelly Hasychak, 38, of Lyndora.Melissa Lovich, 32, of Butler, who was driving another car, tried to avoid the accident but struck Hasychak's vehicle.Police said Thompson was charged with driving too fast for conditions, driving with a suspended license and driving with an expired registration.12:23 a.m. Jan. 26 — April Lynne Ryan, 26, of Butler is accused of shoplifting merchandise at the Wal-Mart store in Butler Commons. Police and a store security officer caught Ryan after a short foot chase. Police said Ryan is charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia.
