Irene Cumberland

Irene Cumberland of Karns City celebrated her 90th birthday with an open house Sept. 28 at the Concord Presbyterian Church.

The former Irene Stoughton was born Sept. 25, 1918. She married Lawrence Cumberland on July 14, 1932. He is deceased.

She has nine children, Marie Stroup of Chicora, Wanda Stroup of Karns City, Dale Cumberland of North Washington, Ruby Deal of Fairview, Delores Kihn of Butler, Dorothy Webb of West Sunbury, Joyce Campbell of Karns City, Bob Cumberland of Chicora and Richard Cumberland of Butler.

She also has 29 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cumberland worked at the Spaide Shirt Factory and was a homemaker.

She is a lifetime member of Concord Presbyterian Church in Hooker.
