The Butler junior high wrestling team ended its season over the weekend by winning the North Allegheny Tournament.

The Golden Tornado brought home 12 medals and all 16 wrestlers won at least one match.

Ryan Hannon at 165 pounds and Zack Weaver at 185 won their respective weight classes, pinning their opponents in the finals.

Placing second were Connor Foust at 75 pounds, Xavier Bennet at 115, Will Bortmas at 145 and Bryant Butler at 210.

Placing third were Cody Houston at 90, Korey Caudill at 100, Jeremiah Bortmas at 105 and Patrick Lokhaiser at 155. Kirk Gibson placed fourth at 110, as did Doug DeFrancisis at 130 and Byron Minous at 138.

Butler finished the season with a 14-1 dual match record.

The Butler Catholic varsity dropped a 43-33 decision to St. Benedict's, despite getting 17 points from John Ferguson and 10 from Chris Gamble.Angela McKnight, Emma Preston, Jordan Camp, Dan Cleary, Logan DeFelice, Gamble and Tyler Protivnak were honored on eighth-grade recognition day.
