Freeport Theatre Festival’s 30th summer season is opening with performances of “Cauldron of Steel,” a historical drama about the immigrants who helped build America, written and directed by Rennick Steele, through Sunday. Shows start at 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday at the festival on the Steele Farm, 2498 White Cloud Road, two miles south of Freeport off Route 356 in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County. Red Barn Players’ summer season will feature the comedy “Here Lies Jeremy Troy” Aug. 9-10, 15-17 and 22-24 at the theater on Route 288, Fombell, Beaver County.
