12:55 p.m. Sunday — One person was hurt when a car driven by Gary Whittington, 31, of Butler slid out of control on East Wayne Street and hit the back of another car driven by Marsha Himchak, 61, of Center Township. Pearl Burtner, no age given, of Summit Township, suffered a minor injury.7:33 p.m. Saturday — A Butler woman reported someone stole her Samsung cell phone, valued at $200, while she was at the Eau Claire Street Inn on Eau Claire Street.9:38 p.m. Friday — Several inches of snow on North Main Street hill was blamed for a one-car crash that injured an Ohio woman. Police said Mercedez Miller, 21, of Warren was traveling down the hill when she lost control of the car and hit a utility pole. Miller was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.1:53 p.m. Tuesday — Two Butler girls, ages 13 and 14, face criminal charges for an alleged fight at Butler Junior High School that left both injured. One girl had to be treated at Butler Memorial Hospital, police said. The girls, who police did not identify, are charged in juvenile court with simple assault.
7:32 p.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by Daniel L. Arnett, 18, of Butler struck the back of a tractor-trailer that had earlier jackknifed on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. Police said Arnett was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.7:30 p.m. Friday — An unknown driver in a Chevy Cobalt did not stop after hitting the back of a car on I-79 in Cranberry Township. Jules A. Shreve, 23, of Union City, Erie County, was driving the car that was hit.4:30 p.m. Friday — A pickup driven by Donald E. Webb, 47, of Fenelton and a sport utility vehicle driven by Lori A. Bly, 48, of Chicora collided on Chicora-Fenelton Road near Old Route 422 in Clearfield Township. Police said Webb was cited for driving with bald tires.5:30 p.m. Thursday — William J. Reges IV, 34, of Butler was hurt when his car struck a tree and rolled onto its side along Hamilton Road near Herman Road in Clearfield Township. Reges, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries. Police said he was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Feb. 1 — Numerous road signs were stolen throughout Winfield Township. The township-owned signs, green with white lettering, were taken between Jan. 29 and Feb. 1. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
1:55 p.m. Friday — Two people were hurt when cars driven by Donald E. Cooper, 59, and Corey E. Horner, 19, both of Rimersburg collided on Route 3002 in Toby Township. Horner and Brooke A. Porter, 19, of Parker, a passenger in his car, were treated at Clarion Hospital for minor injuries.5:45 p.m. Jan. 31 — A car driven by Connie M. Fenstemaker, 32, of Emlenton struck an attended car that was parked on the side of the road, traveleddown an embankment and hit a tree along Route 368 in Callensburg. Police said Fenstemaker, who suffered a minor injury, was cited for a lane violation. Lori V. Gullifer, 40, of Parker was inside the parked car.
10:22 p.m. Friday — A Harrisville man was injured when his car ended up in a creek after skidding off ice- and snow-covered Route 258 in Springfield Township. Allen K. Frye, 35, lost control of the car and hit a guardrail before traveling down an embankment. The car spun around, hit a large culvert pipe and landed partially submerged in the creek.2:20 a.m. Jan. 27 — James Kraus, no age given, of Shepherdstown, Ky., was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 58 in Pine Township.
