'Disney and the Boys' kicks off SRU series
SLIPPERY ROCK — “Disney and the Boys” will kick off the new season of the Performing Arts and Lecture Series at Slippery Rock University.
Entertainers Will and Anthony Nunziata will take the audience on a magical multimedia ride at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13 in the University Union.
The acclaimed singers present the music and stories of iconic Disney songs, many from the songwriting team of the Sherman Brothers.
Other shows in the series are The Queen's Six on Oct. 27; virtuoso fiddler and Grammy Award winner Eileen Ivers, an original star of “Riverdance,” on Dec. 6; and superstar Maureen McGovern on March 21.
An extra show is Cirque Zuma Zuma, an African-style circus, on Feb. 1.

Also included in the series this year are two lectures by nationally renowned journalists: Donna Brazile and Ana Navarro on Nov. 19, and Soledad O'Brien on Feb. 18.
