The Butler junior high wrestling team amassed 62 pins to capture the 11-team Brookville Tournament Friday and Saturday.
Ryan Hannon recorded pins in all seven matches and won the award for most pins in the least amount of time.
Austin George pinned all six of his opponents. Those two champions were joined by Connor Foust and Will Bortmas.
Hugh O’Neil, Jared Hinkle, Mason Kauffman, Josh Boozel and Taylor Flick each finished in second place in their respective weight classes while David Slomers and Zach Raible placed third overall.
The tournament title came after an 83-12 decision over Knoch on Wednesday improved Butler’s record to 7-0.
Kauffman, Boozel, Bortmas, Hannon, Zak Hutchison and Jeremiah Bortmas. each registered pins in the win.
Butler will host Fox Chapel on Wednesday.
• Dustin Davis recorded a hat trick as the Pittsburgh Huskies Bantam AA hockey team tied the division-leading North Pittsburgh Wildcats 3-3 Saturday at the Warrendale BladeRunners.
Tyler Hudak and Eric Leya added assists while Parker Sherry made 18 saves.
The Huskies return to the ice this weekend to compete in the Martin Luther King Rock ‘N Roll Cup Tournament.
• Rich Marnic scored 15 points and Cory Wheeler added nine points to lead the Butler ninth-grade boys basketball team (6-1) to a 56-39 victory over New Castle recently.
• The Butler Catholic varsity girls basketball team defeated Alpha 24-14 and the junior varsity team won 24-3.
In the varsity game, Annie Hegedus and Mary McConnell had eight points apiece in the junior varsity contest, Anna Chiprean scored eight points and Sophia West added six points.
