Butler Middle School to close before next school year

Last Day of School
Thursday marked the last day of classes ever at the Butler Middle School.
The school officially closes this summer before the start of the 2022-23 school year.
Butler Area School District’s fifth-grade students will stay at their elementary schools an additional year while sixth-grade students will attend Butler Intermediate High School.
Ninth-grade students will move from the intermediate to Butler Area Senior High School.
Brian White, superintendent of Butler Area School District, has said the school’s closure was driven by the cost of the facilities and decreasing enrollment.
