4:07 a.m. Sunday — Tammy Lynn Michel, 30, was arrested for allegedly assaulting 41-year-old David M. Fair with a hammer during an argument at their Reo Street home. Police said Michel hit Fair in the right side of the face with the hammer; she is charged with simple assault.

1:21 a.m. Sunday — Katie Spohn, 22, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence on East Jefferson Street. Spohn also was cited for driving with her headlights off, police said.

5:57 p.m. Friday — Justin Charlton, 28, of Butler was hurt when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a sport utility vehicle at North McKean and East New Castle streets. Charlton, who was wearing a helmet, suffered minor injuries. Walter Gallagher, 88, of Butler was driving the SUV.

2:40 a.m. Friday — Robert Roudybush, 40, of Butler was arrested for DUI on North Bluff Street. Police said Roudybush also was cited for driving with a suspended license, driving the wrong way on a one-way road and an open container violation.

5:48 p.m. Tuesday — James J. Kelly, 19, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting his stepfather, 40-year-old Shawn Ruck of Butler during a domestic dispute at a Third Street home. Kelly is charged with simple assault.

Oct. 6 — Police filed charges against Keith B. Mahood in connection with a Sept. 29 hit-and-run accident on West Wayne Street at Butler County Ford.

Mahood allegedly was driving a car that collided with a vehicle driven by Ronald Lamping, 69, of Boyers. Mahood is accused of driving off after hitting the vehicle that Lamping had taken out for a test drive. An employee at the dealership saw the accident and took down the suspect's license plate.

Police tracked the car to the defendant, who officers questioned Oct. 3 about the crash.

Mahood said that he and a friend "were under the influence of heroin at the time and he did not recall much from that day," according to a police report.

Mahood is charged with accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle and careless driving in one case, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in a second case.

9:03 p.m. Oct. 3 — Jesse Edward Smith, 25, was arrested for allegedly assaulting 24-year-old Kayla Messinger at their North Main Street apartment.

State Police, Butler

1:09 p.m. Sunday — Jeffrey D. Christy, 47, of Tarentum, Allegheny County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Brewer Road and Saxonburg Boulevard in Clinton Township.

Saturday — Lorraine Ann Overly was arrested for allegedly assaulting her 17-year-old daughter at the suspect's Porter Road home in Marion Township. The girl was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for a bruised and swollen left eye. Overly is charged with simple assault.

11:10 p.m. Friday — Kris G. Wilson, 30, of East Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Herman Road in Summit Township.

10:45 p.m. Friday — Jesse E. Motosicky, 19, of Saxonburg was hurt when the motorcycle he was driving crashed into an embankment on Marwood Road near Gerner Road in Winfield Township. Motosicky was flown by medical helicopter to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh for unknown injuries; his condition was not known this morning.

Friday — Two people were arrested for DUI during a sobriety checkpoint operation on Herman Road in Summit Township. Troopers manned the checkpoint from 10 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday.

Seventy-six vehicles were stopped and, in addition to the DUI arrests, police issued five traffic tickets and 18 warnings, and arrested three people for unspecified misdemeanor offenses.

Friday — A Center Township woman reported that an unknown thief had accessed her Armco Federal Credit Union account Oct. 2 to make a pair of unauthorized purchases, including $427 at a Walgreen's store in Iowa and $70 via an Internet site.

Friday — Jacalyn Jageman of Fenelton reported that someone broke into her unlocked vehicle on Old Route 422 in Clearfield Township and stole a set of gold Cadillac keys, house keys, checkbook and compact discs. The theft occurred between 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday.

Friday — An unknown vandal spray painted obscene words on the side of a building housing C&S Hardware in Saxonburg. The vandalism occurred between Oct. 5 and Friday.

8:30 p.m. Thursday — Barbara A. Seifer, 52, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI after her sport utility vehicle struck a car on Sunset Drive near Shanahan Road in Center Township. Daniel Kummer, 38, of Butler was driving the car.

11:55 p.m. Sunday — Karen E. Adams, no age given, of Rimersburg swerved her car but was unable to avoid hitting a deer on Canoe Ripple Road in Licking Township.

2:32 a.m. Saturday — Richard Robert Claypool, 36, of Kittanning was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 in South Buffalo Township.
