J. Dwayne Hartzell

J. Dwayne "Danie" Hartzell, 64, of Brownsdale Road, Renfrew, died at 8:45 a.m. Thursday at his home.

Born Nov. 9, 1943, in Butler, he was the son of the late John M. Hartzell and the late Audrey R. Hixon Hartzell.

Mr. Hartzell was a mechanic for Billco Motors in Wexford for 20 years.

He was a member of the Grace Church of Harmony.

Dwayne graduated from the Evans City High School and the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He also attended Houghton, Geneva and Slippery Rock colleges.

Dwayne was a master gardener, beekeeper and farmer. He was a passionate hunter and outdoorsman with numerous "trophies."

Dwayne was a fine example of what a Christian should be. He led his life with principles and values. Dwayne was a loving husband, devoted father, indescribable pap, dependable brother and trusted friend to all.

Mr. Hartzell is survived by his wife, Patricia J. "Putz" Hartzell, whom he married April 16, 1966; three daughters and their husbands, Lorrie L. and Fred R. Kison of Renfrew, Wendy W. and Brian K. Douthett of Connoquenessing and Robin R. and Michael J. Spangler of Renfrew; and a son and his wife, Justin D. and Shannon Hartzell of Wexford.

Dwayne also is survived by 11 grandchildren, Tyler, Evan, Noah, Luke, Joshua and Caleb Kison, Shannon, Emerson and Maverick Douthett and Emma and Collin Spangler; two brothers and their wives, Daryl E. and Evelyn Hartzell of Renfrew and Larry and Jan Hartzell of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Eileen A. Quinn of Sarver; one brother-in-law, Jerry Arnold of Humboldt, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hartzell was preceded in death by one sister, Janice K. Arnold; and one brother-in-law, James Quinn.

<B>HARTZELL</B> — Friends of J. Dwayne "Danie" Hartzell, who died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Grace Church of Harmony with Pastor Pete Everett of Grace Church officiating.
