CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

The prayer shawl group of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, meets at 1 p.m. today, and Hannah’s Circle meets at 6:30 p.m. today.

Breakfast is served from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday in Oz Hall. The red church offering Sunday benefits the Helping Hand Fund. October contributions for the St. Vincent de Paul food cupboard can be placed in the collection plate.

The men’s breakfast is at 8 a.m. Monday at Kings Restaurant, 191 New Castle Road.

Bible Study is at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and 7 p.m. Wednesday. The quilters also meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Community Life Church holds services at McQuistion Elementary School.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Elder Brian Graff leads the Sunday worship service at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St.

A fellowship and movie matinee for “The Intern,” with Robert DeNiro and Anne Hathaway, is at 4 p.m. Saturday in the assembly room.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., resumes Bible study at 10:30 a.m. today.

A hospitality training session and dinner is at 6:30 p.m. today.

GLADE RUN

The mission team of Glade Run Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, hosts a fall garage sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Glade Run gym.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

The fellowship and service committee of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., meets Saturday after the committee’s lunch.

New members are received during the 10 a.m. Sunday worship service.

The evangelism and stewardship committee meet after the service Sunday in the church library.

The finance committee meets at 6:30 p.m., and the worship and music committee meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The church council meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Michele Huff provides special music at the Sunday worship service.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The Rev. Fred Young is the guest pastor Sunday at Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. The handbell choir will play.

Volunteers prepare community lunches at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

To donate juice boxes or fruit and vegetable trays for the weekly Kids Club program, sign up on the bulletin board across from the church library.

The food requests for October are noodles and tuna.

Intersection

Intersection Community Church, 120 Walker Ave., hosts a seminar, “Medicare Made Clear,” from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 20. To register, call the church office at 724-283-8407.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, participates in the Mars Applefest Saturday. There are small pumpkins for children to decorate at the booth.

The church welcomes guest musician Nathan Cook at the 11 a.m. Sunday service.

The youth group meets at 5:30 p.m. for middle school and 7 p.m. for high school Sunday.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Members of Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, make apple dumplings starting at 8 a.m. Friday.

There is a fellowship dinner after Sunday worship. Take a dish to share.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The October mission offering of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., is for the McKee Memorial Fund to support the work of PCUSA mission co-workers Jim and Jodi McGill in Niger where they work in water/sanitation and health.

Contact the church office to make a reservation or request transportation for the Bless Be the Tie That Binds Fall Service and Supper is Sunday.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 420 Beaver St., Mars, has a craft booth Saturday at the Mars Applefest.

The Rev. Bob Zimmerman leads a liturgy of morning prayer at 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays in the sanctuary before the brown bag Bible study.

There is a Bible study at 7 p.m. Oct. 12.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

The bell choir of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, rehearses at 5 p.m. Thursdays.

The worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday includes Holy Communion.

The outreach and evangelism ministry team leads the 2 p.m. Sunday worship service at Saxony Health Center, 223 Pittsburgh St., Saxonburg.

Monday’s council meeting was rescheduled on Oct. 16.

The Stars group meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday to carpool to the Foxburg Inn for lunch.

The AM sewing ministry meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 12.

SUMMIT PRESBYTERIAN

The annual church picnic at Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive, is at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Grabes Pavilion. Take a dish to share, lawn chairs and yard games. Activities include a bonfire and a hayride.

The women’s group meets at 6 p.m. and the men’s study is at 7 p.m. Monday in the new meeting place at the church.

Child care is available during the women’s Bible study, FDFX, at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

The deacons meet at 6:30 p.m., and session meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, is helping Saturday at Passavant in Zelienople for the United Way Week of Caring. For more information, call 724-287-1977.

Sunday school students and adults meet to paint at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

All weekend services are healing services.
