Tuesday — Police filed drunken driving and other charges against Sarah Kristine Howell, 26, of Butler stemming from a July 7 hit-and-run accident on West Boyd Avenue.Officers soon after the crash found Howell on Whippo Avenue. A police report said there were two young children in the back of her car. She allegedly admitted hitting the other car and driving away, the report said.Howell is charged with driving under the influence, child endangerment, accidents involving damage to an unattended vehicle and careless driving.7:51 p.m. Monday — Derek Dickson, 27, of Butler was arrested after an off-duty city officer spotted him allegedly selling drugs. He was searched, according to a police report, and found with 15 stamp bags of suspected heroin.Dickson is charged with delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.The defendant, following an arraignment on charges, was placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail.
10:51 a.m. Tuesday — An unknown burglar broke into Aspen Dental on New Castle Road and stole an undisclosed amount of money and a sterilization unit.Monday — Robert Collins II, 47, was arraigned on a felony drug charge after police July 24 found two marijuana plants growing in the yard of his Randy Drive home. Police had gone to the home where Collins had allegedly fired a gun off his rear porch.Collins is charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegally discharging a firearm. He was released on his own recognizance, following arraignment.Monday — Police charged Linda Suttle, 39, of Karns City with theft for allegedly stealing a tool belt and tools worth an estimated $297 at Butler Memorial Hospital. She also is charged with receiving stolen property.
Tuesday — A pair of men's glasses were found on Bessemer Avenue and turned in to police. The owner can claim the glasses at the police station.2:37 a.m. July 30 — Casey R. Bookwalter, 21, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on West Main Street.
11:54 p.m. Tuesday — A 16-year-old Butler boy, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence while riding an all-terrain vehicle on Route 8 near Benbrook Road in Center Township. Police said the youth was charged in juvenile court with DUI and several traffic violations.7:42 p.m. Tuesday — Rebecca Lynn Weber, 26, is accused of harboring a fugitive at her Oak Leaf Drive home in Jefferson Township. Police said Allegheny County authorities were seeking the fugitive. Weber faces a charge of hindering apprehension or prosecution.1:38 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Debbie J. Horner, 52, of Parker and a sport utility vehicle driven by Deborah K. Thompson, 62, of Harrisville collided on Route 58 in Marion Township.Tuesday — Carrie Jean Cubbage, 23, of Butler was arraigned on drug charges stemming from an alleged controlled drug buy March 23 at the her home.Cubbage is accused of selling 10 stamp bags of heroin to a police informant, according to court documents. She faces felony and misdemeanor counts of drug possession in the case.9:44 p.m. Monday — Patrick J. Stillwagon, 52, of Butler was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was driving crashed and slid on West Old Route 422 near Dick Road in Franklin Township. Police said Stillwagon, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh; his condition was not known this morning.Friday — A Slippery Rock man reported that someone within the past several days stole a brown leather briefcase from his vehicle at Valley Vue Lane in Worth Township.8:20 p.m. July 29 — Christopher W. Schmidt, 31, of Butler is accused of stealing a Center Township woman's bank card and using it to withdraw $100 from her account. He faces charges of access device fraud, theft and receiving stolen property.10:16 a.m. July 26 — Cars driven by Leonard Nichter, 83, and Donna Croft, 58, both of Butler collided at Route 8 and Brandon Road in Center Township. Croft was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. Police said Nichter was cited for a stop sign violation.
5:54 p.m. Monday — Two Butler County women were hurt when sport utility vehicles they were driving collided at routes 19 and 358 in Perry Township.Ann F. Krome, 75, of Mars and Bridget Grottenthaler, 30, of Butler suffered minor injuries. Police said Krome was cited for a red light violation.
7:46 p.m. Tuesday — Two people were hurt when a car driven by Owen R. Proctor, 17, of Portersville and a van driven by Alfred J. Bogul, 41, of New Castle collided at Harlensburg Road and Route 388 in Hickory Township.Monique Proctor, 54, of Portersville, a passenger in the car, and Penny Kneram, 48, of New Castle, a passenger in the van, suffered minor injuries. Police said Owen Proctor was cited for a stop sign violation.
