BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will have special music from a quartet Sunday.

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, has a potluck lunch at noon Sunday. Take a dish to share.

The youth group meets at 6 p.m. Sunday.

The First English Lutheran Church community dinner work team will meet at 4 p.m. Monday.

The contemporary worship planning committee will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday followed by the Christmas happening committee at 7 p.m.

Bible study will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Room 204.

Volunteers will work on whole hog sausage sale labels at 1 p.m. Nov. 1.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church, 1104 Pittsburgh Pike Road, will pass out candy and more during trick-or-treating hours Wednesday.

FAITH U.P.

Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main St., Ext., will have fellowship after the Sunday worship service with cider and doughnuts.

The AA Group meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Weight Watchers meets at 10 a.m. Wednesday, 6 p.m. Nov. 1 and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 3.

FIRST BAPTIST

The elementary students from First Baptist Christian School, a ministry of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will have a Fall Festival beginning at 10 a.m. Friday.

Sunday’s service schedule will begin at 9:45 a.m. with Sunday School classes and an 11 a.m. worship service. There will be a 6 p.m. Sunday worship service.

The Deaf Café will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Baptist youth center. Take a lunch. There will be fellowship, a devotional and a guest speaker.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will mark its 175th anniversary on Reformation Sunday with a 10 a.m. festival Sunday worship service with Bishop Kurt Kusserow presiding at the liturgy and Pastor Kimberly Van Driel preaching. The worship service will be followed by a catered lunch in the social Hall.

The Lutheran Sisters in Christ will meet at 11 a.m. Friday at Mac’s Route 8 Café, 16 Pittsburgh Road.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will have Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank, open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. No proof of income is required. Each family may fill one large bag.

A fourth Sunday gathering, “Inquiring Minds,” will meet from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the room across from Grace’s Closet to discuss midrash, a way of interpreting and understanding the ancient Hebrew scriptures.

Young adults (age 21 and up) will join with other BALM churches at 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Pig Iron Public House,: 926 Sheraton Drive, Cranberry Township, for a time of fellowship and planning for future activities.

Ladies’ Night Out is at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Rock Ann Haven, 141 Greenwood Drive. All ladies of all ages are invited.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St. will have the Rev. Leigh Benish deliver the sermon at the Sunday worship. The chancel choir will sing.

The Deacons’ Harvest Home food collection begins this week with request for canned and jarred foods such as vegetables and fruits, spaghetti sauce, tuna, peanut butter, beef stew and pumpkin.

A sign-up sheet to volunteer at the Election Day bake sale is on the deacons’ table.

INTERSECTION

The Locking Arms Men’s Ministry of Intersection Church, 120 Walker Ave., meets at 6:30 a.m. Wednesdays at Mac’s Route 8 Cafe, 16 Pittsburgh Road, and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. at Kings Family Restaurant, 191 New Castle Road.

“The Struggle is Real” women’s Bible study meets at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays in the church classroom.

NEW ZION EVANGELICAL

New Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Route 38, five miles north of Emlenton, will have a Trunk or Treat to coincide with Emlenton’s Trick-or-Treat night between 4 and 6 p.m. Saturday. Donations for VOICe, Butler County’s agency to assist victims of domestic violence, can be dropped off Thursday in Evans City.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., celebrates its Church of Scotland Presbyterian heritage with a special 10:30 a.m. Scottish Sunday worship service.

The service features Butler bagpiper Lars Morrison and Scottish singer Red McWilliams. Pastor Merry Meloy will celebrate the church’s Scottish background and legacy in her sermon.

Following worship, there will be a luncheon featuring traditional Scottish fare. McWilliams will entertain with a program of Scottish and Celtic songs. The public is invited to join in this celebration.

Sarver Free Methodist Church, 509 Sarver Road, will have a free Harvest Party at 4 p.m. Saturday. Activities will include trick-or-treating, a hay ride, bonfire and food.

SPRINGDALE LUTHERAN

Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury, welcomes Dennis Hindman as guest pastor Sunday.

The church will celebrate Reformation Sunday by offering Holy Communion at 11 a.m. Members are reminded to wear red on Sunday.

The Friendly Fellowship Group meets at 10 a.m. Saturday, to clean the church. All members are welcome.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, will celebrate Holy Communion during the celebration of Reformation Sunday.

The October Cause of the Month, the ELCA Lutheran Disaster Response Initiative, has been extended through November, due to the many disasters that have happened in the last several months, throughout the country.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will celebrate Reformation and Stewardship Sunday this week. Communion will be shared at both services. The Sewing Ministry meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday in the Fellowship Hall.

Study on Prayer meets 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Café, and the Women’s Group meets at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Library section of the Fellowship Hall.

Christmas cards for the military are available in the Koinonia Café or from the church office.

The Bibles for Vets program ends this week.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

The Sisters in Christ of Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, meet at 11 a.m. Friday at Mac’s Route 8 Café, 16 Pittsburgh Road.

There will be a reception after each service this weekend to welcome the new parish assistant.

Women’s Bible study meets at 10 a.m. Nov. 1.
