Flintlock, archery deer seasons open after Christmas
Pennsylvania white-tailed deer and small-game hunters will have more opportunities to head afield after Christmas.
Archery and muzzleloader seasons for bucks and does open Dec. 26 and run through Jan. 18. Permits for does, or antlerless deer, are required. Hunters must have archery or muzzleloader licenses in addition to general hunting licenses.
In addition, an extended firearms doe season runs from Dec. 26 to Jan. 23 in Allegheny County and five counties around Philadelphia, and an archery season for bucks and does is open from Dec. 26 to Jan. 23 in Wildlife Management Unit 2B and two units in the Philadelphia area.
The late small-game season for pheasant, rabbit, squirrel and quail is open from Dec. 26 to Feb. 27.
