Mark Esper’s ‘A Sacred Oath’

If the eye-popping revelations contained in Mark Esper’s book “A Sacred Oath” are not enough to convince the public of Trump’s unhinged unfitness to hold any office, let alone the presidency, American democracy is doomed.

Among the stunning nuggets of imbecility were the following: Trump wanted to shoot missiles into Mexico to supposedly destroy cartel drug labs.

He wanted to summarily withdraw troops from South Korea over insignificant money squabbles, the result being that the Korean peninsula would be brought closer to war.

He wanted to summarily withdraw from NATO over, you guessed it, money squabbles; and now, we are seeing the value of NATO in supporting the brave and determined people and military forces of Ukraine.

Unsurprisingly, Trump has little praise or sympathy for the Ukrainians due to his psychological fascination with thuggish dictators like Putin.

And, yes, he believed the Chinese had a “hurricane gun.”

Former NSA chief John Bolton stated that this book is one more bit of evidence “that Mr. Trump should never again be president.”

Trump’s supporters refuse to see all of this for fear, among other things, that their sense of being a part of something bigger than themselves, and that their self-image, will deflate. But their lives will greatly improve when the truth breaks through that they have been cynically deceived by a grifting, immature, illiterate, but very dangerous, undemocratic charlatan.
