11:48 p.m. Wednesday — William J. Allenberg III, 43, was arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, 41-year-old Sandra Macefe, during a domestic dispute at the couple's Hazel Avenue apartment. Allenberg was placed in the Butler County Prison to await arraignment on a charge of simple assault.8:10 p.m. Monday — A 25-year-old mother faces several charges, according to police, after she apparently overdosed on heroin in her North Main Street apartment with her two young children inside.Police said they found Melissa Hernandez unresponsive and lying on a bed. Next to her, officers found two hypodermic needles, four spoons and two empty stamp bags of suspected heroin.Hernandez's kids, 2 and 4 years old, were in the apartment unsupervised.Police said when the suspect came to, she gave officers a false name and other personal information.The Butler County Children and Youth Services agency was notified and took the children out of the home. The children later were placed with their grandmother, police said.Hernandez is charged with child endangerment, false identification to police and possession of drug paraphernalia.

9:27 p.m. Monday — A car driven by April Smith, 30, of Butler crashed into a concrete barrier on Route 422, just east of the Lyndora off-ramp. Moments later, police said, Matthew Yandura, 22, of Butler swerved his vehicle to avoid the disabled car, but struck two other vehicles stopped on the side of the road.The drivers of those stopped vehicles had gone to help Smith. No injuries were reported. Police cited Smith for driving too fast for conditions.

Tuesday — An unidentified green or turquoise vehicle Monday or Tuesday drove through the yard at a home in the 500 block of Ridgeway Avenue and struck a small tree. The vehicle drove off after the crash that caused minor property damage.Police said the hit-and-run vehicle likely has passenger side damage to the body and mirror. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.Monday — Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident in the parking lot of College View Towers. The accident happened between 5:30 p.m. Sunday and 1:30 p.m. Monday when the unidentified vehicle hit a car, damaging the car's passenger front bumper.

Wednesday — An unknown thief stole a green, 2001 Kawasaki KX80 dirt bike from the back of a truck on Nye Lane in Muddy Creek Township. The bike was taken between 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. Wednesday.Tuesday — A KTM motorcycle and a Freud miter saw were stolen from an unlocked garage in a burglary at a home on Turrano Lane. The break-in and theft happened between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.9 p.m. Monday — A vehicle driven by Dayne A. O'Donnell, 29, of Chicora crashed and rolled over several times on Route 308 just south of Kiester Road in Cherry Township. Police said O'Donnell was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
