1:50 p.m. Saturday — One person was hurt when cars driven by Lester Heckard, 51, of Renfrew and Abbi Cochran, 20, of Hilliards collided at East Jefferson and Franklin streets. Florence Wittig, 61, of Renfrew, a passenger in Heckard's car, suffered minor injuries; she was not wearing a seat belt.4:33 a.m. Saturday — Christa Lee Jones, 33, of Jefferson Township was arrested for driving under the influence after her sport utility vehicle scraped the side of the wall on the General Butler Bridge on Route 8 South.A breath test, according to a police report, later showed her blood-alcohol level at 0.163 percent, more than double the level of 0.08 percent that is considered intoxicated under state law. In addition to DUI, Jones is charged with careless driving.

Friday — Prescription medication, $500 and a checkbook were stolen in a burglary at a Gibson Street home in Eau Claire.Friday — An unknown vandal set off some type of explosive device inside the portable bathroom at the Clay Township Municipal Park on Route 138. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.

11 a.m. Nov. 2 — A man and woman from Venango County were hurt when their tractor-trailer rolled over onto its side on Bradley Road in Worth Township, Mercer County. The driver, Joe D. McDivitt, 46, and his passenger, Jacqueline L. McDivitt, 23, of Utica, suffered severe and minor injuries, respectively. Police said both occupants were taken to UPMC Greenville.12:49 a.m. Sept. 22 — Thomas M. Holtman Jr., 39, of Grove City was arrested for driving under the influence at Route 19 and Stoneboro Road in Fairview Township, Mercer County.

12:39 a.m. Sunday — No one was injured but a work truck traveling northbound on Interstate 79 was damaged after a vandal or vandals threw eggs and ears of corn from the Pollock Store Road overpass. The items struck and cracked the windshield that Samuel Courtney, 55, of Grove City was driving.
