Autism poster contest winners announced

State Rep. Marci Mustello, R-11th, announced the winners of an April poster-coloring contest designed to help students become better informed about and able to access resources available to help children with autism.

Mustello said nine winners were selected from more than 200 entries from schools across the 11th District. A three-judge panel chose the winners in three age groups: K to grade five; grades six to eight; and grades nine to 12.

The winners in the kindergarten through fifth-grade category were: first, Paige Singer, McQuiston Elementary school fourth-grader; second, Olivia Bartolicius, South Butler Elementary School fifth-grader; third place, Zeke, Broad Street Elementary School second-grader; and honorable mention, Justice, HIS Kids Christian School, fifth-grader.

The winners in the sixth- through eighth-grade category were: Tegan Perez, First Baptist Christian School seventh-grader; second place, sixth-grader Noah Simmons, Butler Catholic School; Sofia Matonak, Butler Catholic School sixth-grader; and honorable mention, Isla Leyland, sixth-grader.

The winners in the ninth- through 12th-grade category were: Noah Wolford, Butler High School senior; Vaydon Crawford, Knoch High School senior; Chloe Drew, First Baptist Christian School senior; and honorable mention, Leah Legters, Knoch High School 11th-grader.
