John Kennedy, the owner of Four Seasons Game Bird Farm in Valencia, hosted a sporting clay shoot and pheasant hunt Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2009. He used golf carts and a hunting dog to help six U.S. military veterans who hunted, four of whom were paralyzed.

“We do military, police and firefighter specials,” Kennedy said. “Anybody, really, who serves the community, I feel I can give them a day hunting. They deserve it.”

Three of the hunters were sportsmen who had participated in the hunt before. The event was sponsored by the Keystone Paralyzed Veterans of America.

“We went out for about 20 birds, and we got nine or 10, so I'd say it went pretty well,” Kennedy said of the day's hunt.

Kennedy, who has operated the game farm for 17 years, said he relished the chance to share his passion with others who have strayed from hunting or are new to the sport.
