7:07 p.m. Sunday — David Allen Pistorius, 28, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 17-year-old at the teen's Mitchell Avenue home. Pistorius was arraigned on charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,000 bond.8:07 p.m. Saturday — David Brian Schrum, 24, of Holtwood, Lancaster County, was arrested after police were called for a reported fight at the Broad Street School playground. Police said Schrum is accused of punching and kicking Jason Cramer, 20, of Butler.Schrum, who claimed he was defending himself, was arraigned on charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond. Police said Cramer was treated at the scene for bumps and bruises to the head, face, arms and hands.
10:25 p.m. Sunday — Matthew S. Petrosky, 26, of Sarver was injured when he swerved his motorcycle to avoid a deer and crashed into a utility pole along Reimer Road in Winfield Township. Police said Petroksy, who was wearing a helmet, was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital, for minor injuries.5 p.m. Sunday — Steven Michael Mitchell, 38, of Connellsville, Fayette County, was arrested following an altercation over a child custody issue at a Jodi Lane home in Summit Township. Police said Mitchell is accused of driving his car over the foot of Ruth Ruediger, 34, of Butler.Mitchell was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bond.1:40 a.m. Sunday — A pickup truck driven by Jonathan Shelley, 23, of Colden, N.Y., crashed into a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township. The crash occurred, police said, when Shelley fell asleep at the wheel. He was cited for careless driving.Sunday — An unknown thief stole numerous parts to a gas well on Davis Road in Oakland Township. Edward Craig of Chicora owns the stolen property that was taken between 10:30 a.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday.Sunday — A cordless drill, money and medication were taken from a sport utility vehicle at the Angel Spur Drive home of Angela Schlagel in Brady Township. The stolen property, which was taken between 7 and 9 p.m., is valued at $295.10:56 p.m. Saturday — Michael J. Brenneman, 35, of Chicora was arrested for allegedly assaulting Lisa D. Miller, 37, during a domestic dispute at a Fairmont Road home in Fairview Township. Police said Brenneman is charged with simple assault.3:07 p.m. Saturday — Tiffany Rose Mullen, 19, of Butler is accused of shoplifting about $330 in clothing and jewelry from the JCPenney store in the Clearview Mall in Center Township.9:50 a.m. Saturday — Clint L. McFeathers, 22, of West Sunbury was injured when his motorcycle crashed into an embankment on Route 138 in Washington Township. Police said McFeathers, who was not wearing a helmet, was flown by medical helicopter to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh with moderate injuries; his condition was not known this morning.Saturday — A Remington .308-caliber, bolt-action rifle valued at $250 and about $50 in coins were taken in a burglary between 3 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday at the New Castle Road home of Lawrence Durnell in Worth Township.Saturday — Several unspecified items that are part of a gas well on Danville Road in Oakland Township were stolen between Wednesday and Saturday. Daniel Neff or Butler owns the stolen property.Saturday — Three compact discs were stolen from a car at the Ivy Apartments in Slippery Rock Township. The car's stereo also was damaged. Owner Ronald Moore of Slippery Rock said his car was broken into between 4 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.Saturday — Someone fired a BB gun into a bug zapper and the vinyl siding of a house on Shawnee Drive in Center Township. The home, owned by Thomas Donaldson, was vandalized between July 10 and Saturday.8:52 p.m. Friday — Two people were injured when the motorcycle they were riding struck a dog and crashed on North Washington Road about one-half mile west of Route 268 in Bruin. Police said driver Danny Herold, 41, of Petrolia was unable to avoid hitting the dog, which ran between two houses and onto the road.Herold and passenger Rayna Lynn Herold, 14, of Petrolia, who were wearing helmets, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate shoulder injuries and bruises.11:43 a.m. Friday — A truck driven by Michael J. Schnur, 53, and a van driven by Tamera Deaton, 42, both of Butler collided on Route 422 near North Road in Franklin Township.The van, following the collision, struck a utility pole.Police said Eugene Codispot, 46, of Lyndora, a passenger in the van, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries; his condition was not known this morning. Police said Schnur was cited for careless driving.5:28 a.m. Friday — Apickup driven by Gary A. Neff, 25, of Harmony crashed into an embankment and rolled over on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. Police said Neff was cited for careless driving.Friday — An unknown burglar stole a six pack of beer after smashing a window and breaking into the Moraine Drive home of Stephen Salisbury in Muddy Creek Township. The burglary occurred between 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. Friday.Friday — Unknown vandals aboard all-terrain vehicles and/or dirt bikes drove across the Hemphill Cemetery off South Main Street in Chicora. The vandalism occurred between July 1 and Friday.
Tuesday — Danny Charles Smith Jr., 23, of Templeton was arrested for allegedly stealing scrap metal from a field along Duncan Road in Madison Township. Smith is charged with theft and receiving stolen property. Police said Dennis Hopper of Templeton owns the stolen property.
