8:48 a.m. Tuesday — Alisa M. Green, 49, of Butler was hurt when the car she was driving collided with a sport utility vehicle at Peach and School streets. Green, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Michael Guenther, 25, of Butler was driving the SUV.
5 p.m. Thursday — A one-vehicle crash on Route 422 at Route 8 ended with Stone McDermott, 18, of Cabot faces traffic and drug charges.McDermott lost control of his vehicle and crossed over the median and the oncoming lane before stopping on the berm. Police got there but he was gone.In McDermott's vehicle officers found suspected marijuana and other contraband, according to a police report.McDermott is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, as well as leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving and other traffic violations.
6:40 a.m. Wednesday — A minivan driven by John P. Lucas, 45, of Zelienople caused a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. The other drivers were Crystal A. Nalepa, 33, of Ellwood City; and Jennifer R. Cady, 38, and Jeffrey F. Berbach, 48, both of Zelienople.Lucas was cited for following too closely to another vehicle.Nov. 10 — A thief made off with a 2-foot-by-4-foot sewer grate on Bonniebrook Road near Jones Road. The grate, owned by Jefferson Township, is valued at $250. The theft happened between Nov. 5 and 10.Nov. 6 — Numerous catch basin grates were stolen in a pair of Butler County municipalities between Oct. 23 and Nov. 6. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation own the grates.In Winfield Township, 22 steel grates on Mushroom Farm Road were stolen. The grates are worth a combined $4,500.In Summit Township, an unspecified number of grates on Saxonburg Road were taken. They are valued at $1,000.
5:30 a.m. Friday — Lee J. Smail, 30, of Kittanning was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 66 in Manor Township.
12:10 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Nathan D. Brandt, 22, of Wampum, Lawrence County, struck a deer on Route 19 in Springfield Township.8:14 p.m. Nov. 9 — Five unknown would-be shoplifters tried to make off with shopping bags filled with merchandise from the Gap Kids store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township. The suspects, three black women and two black men, dropped the items and fled after store employees confronted them.
10:29 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Joshua J. Duff, 33, of New Castle struck a deer on Route 422 just east of Church Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.
