10:37 p.m. Monday — Steven W. Charlton, 34, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Candice Cady, during a domestic dispute at his Ash Street home. Charlton was placed in the Butler County Prison to await arraignment on a charge of simple assault.

8 p.m. Sunday — Police received complaints of a black dog running loose on the side of the eastbound lanes of Route 422 near Route 8. The dog is described as a medium-size, Labrador retriever mix with a white spot on the chest and a blue collar around the neck.Anyone who has lost a dog matching that description is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.4:45 a.m. Saturday — Christy Holmes, 45, formerly of Butler was arrested on a warrant after police were called to the Days Inn on Route 8 South for a reported assault. Police said Holmes, who allegedly was impaired by alcohol and drugs, was found with drug contraband in a purse.She was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant. Police said they also cited her for possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.

Monday — Police charged Lindsay K. Kleeman, 26, of Butler with drunken driving stemming from a March 29 traffic stop for speeding on Route 8.Kleeman's northbound car at 1:49 a.m. was clocked going 92 mph, nearly double the posted 50 mph limit, according to court documents.A blood test later showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.126 percent, police said. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Police charged Kleeman with driving under the influence, speeding and a lane violation.

1:07 p.m. Wednesday — Martina Groncki, 43, of Clearfield Township was charged with hindering apprehension and disorderly conduct after allegedly lying about the whereabouts of her son, Mark Hattaway, 20, who was wanted for failing to appear at a court hearing on a drug case. The deputy sheriffs cited Groncki after watching Hattaway leave his mother's Route 422 residence.

5:13 a.m. Sunday — Mandi Miller, 21, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Routes 8 and 173 in Brady Township.1:40 a.m. Sunday — Maurice V. Douglas, 26, of Slippery Rock was arrested on criminal charges following an altercation with security at The Heights Apartments on Stillwater Lane in Slippery Rock Township.Police said security staff spotted Douglas allegedly smoking marijuana behind an apartment building. When staffers tried to stop and question the suspect, he ran from them. After he was caught, according to a police report, he fought with security.Police said Douglas faces charges of misdemeanor drug possession and simple assault.3:55 a.m. April 5 — A car driven by Chad W. Houk, 21, of Butler struck an embankment, spun around and rolled onto its side on Route 8 in Center Township. Houk, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Police said he was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.

1:10 p.m. Monday — Clayton Rhodes, no age given, of Rimersburg was seriously injured when the speeding car he was driving slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer that was stopped on Route 68 in front of the Rimersburg Veterans of Foreign Wars post home in Madison Township.A medical helicopter flew Rhodes to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh; his condition was not known this morning. Police said he was wearing a seat belt. Jeffrey Toy, no age given, of Curwensville, Clearfield County, was driving the rig.Police said they continue to investigate the crash.

Monday — Police reported that the Chestnut Street bridge was vandalized with spray paint sometime between mid-March and the beginning of April. Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.4:50 p.m. Saturday — A 16-year-old girl, who police did not identify, is accused of simple assault and harassment stemming from a domestic dispute on Summit Street.April 2 — An unknown would-be thief damaged the soft drink machine in front of Foster Beer Distributor in a failed break-in attempt.
