Mary S. Cavalero, 90, formerly of North Elm Street, Butler, died early Tuesday morning at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Aug. 17, 1917, in Regina, Canada, a daughter of Harry and Nellie Bembeneck Swory.

Mary was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Butler and for many years had served as the financial secretary for the Western Pennsylvania region of the I.S.D.A. She had been a member for more than 50 years.

She was the widow of Paul F. "Coke" Cavalero, whom she married March 27, 1942, and who died Oct. 12, 2003. Mary also was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers, as she was from a family of nine children.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Jean Gibson and her husband, Rex, and Rosemary Flick and her husband, Fritz, all of Butler; six grandchildren, Gina Adams, Denise (Fran) Streitman, Stacy (Derek) Bowman, Michelle (Bill) Shera, Daniel (Stacy)Flick and Brian Flick; three sisters, Agi Swory of Atlantic City, N.J., Bertha Onda of New Carrollton, Md., and Veronica (Santo) Muti of Tampa, Fla. Also surviving are several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

<B>CAVALERO </B>— Friends of Mary S. Cavalero, who died Tuesday, July 15, 2008, will be received 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Butler.The family requests that memorial donations be made to either the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053, or the Hospice Program of the Butler Area Visiting Nurses Association, 154 Hindman Road, Butler.The Women's Guild and Christian Mothers of St. Paul Church will recite the Rosary at 9:40 a.m. Thursday at the church.Additional information can be found and condolence messages can be placed at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
