1:35 p.m. Saturday — Cars driven by Kevin Ceasar, 26, of Franklin Township and Mason Hodgkiss, 18, of Butler collided at West Cunningham and South Chestnut streets. After the collision, Hodgkiss' car hit the side of the Chestnut Inn.An 11-year-old Bruin girl, who was riding in Hodgkiss' car, was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. Ceasar was cited for a red light violation.4:45 p.m. Friday — Cars driven by Samantha Steighner, 18, of Butler Township and Shelly West, 39, of Butler collided at East Brady and North Cliff streets.Friday — Adam Briggs, 31, of Butler is accused of violating a protection from abuse order after he allegedly called an ex-girlfriend at her Hansen Avenue apartment.Tuesday — Kamarki Casanova, 18, of Butler was arrested on a charge of violating a protection from abuse order after he allegedly tried to kick in the door of an 18-year-old woman's West North Street apartment. Casanova was arraigned on the charge and placed in the Butler County Prison on $1,500 bail.

8:25 a.m. Sunday — Police searched for but could not immediately find a hit-and-run driver who ran into a wooded area after his car crashed into a culvert and two large rocks on Schnur Road in Summit Township.8:30 p.m. Saturday — Several boys are accused of throwing rocks at a vehicle traveling south on Route 8 near the Clearview Mall in Center Township. The driver, a 49-year-old Butler County man, was not injured but his vehicle was hit with several rocks. The boys, who police did not identify, face charges of propulsion of missiles and criminal mischief.3:02 a.m. Saturday — A would-be thief was seen trying to steal scrap metal at Bob's Auto & Salvage on Route 38 in Oakland Township. The unknown suspect fled after employees saw him loading metal into his truck.9:59 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Douglas R. Hayes, 51, of Butler struck a culvert, mailbox and embankment along Route 528 in Franklin Township. Hayes was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.8:40 p.m. Friday — Eleanor Magusiak, no age given, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township, but not before allegedly leading troopers on a chase for about 2 miles. In addition to DUI, Magusiak faces a charge for fleeing or attempting to elude police.6:15 p.m. Friday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Ian Stefaniszyn, 23, of Pittsburgh and a car driven by Walter J. Kent, 87, of Slippery Rock collided on Route 8 in Brady Township. Ruth Kent, 81, of Slippery Rock, a passenger in the car, suffered minor injuries. Stefaniszyn was cited for a stop sign violation.1:39 p.m. Thursday — An unknown thief stole a white, 2009 Nissan Murano parked at a roadside fruit stand on Route 173 in Slippery Rock Township. The keys were left in the ignition of the rental vehicle while the lessee, a Florida woman, was at the fruit stand. The woman told police she left the vehicle unattended for about 10 minutes5:30 p.m. Wednesday — A van driven by Christopher L. Miller, 33, of Mercer struck the rear of an SUV on I-79 in Worth Township. Miller faces a ticket for driving at an unsafe speed. Sarah E. Noone, 23, of Harrisville was driving the SUV.7:35 p.m. Aug. 23 — A thief stole a laptop computer from a vehicle at a Muddy Creek Drive home in Brady Township. Police have a suspect, who they did not identify, in the theft.9:29 o.m. Aug. 5 — Kristen Nicole Leroy, 22, of Cabot was arrested for suspicion of DUI after her vehicle crashed in a ditch on Bonniebrook Road near Jones Road in Jefferson Township.

2 a.m. Sunday — An unknown robber snatched an elderly Worthington woman's bag of groceries from the Foodland parking lot at Hill Top Plaza in East Franklin Township. The bag also contained an undisclosed amount of currency. The 79-year-old woman was not hurt.The suspect is described as a white male, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a white shirt. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.

1:35 p.m. Sunday—A car driven by a 17-year-old Fredonia girl struck a utility pole along Irishtown Road in Pine Township. The girl, who police did not identify, was treated at Grove City Medical Center for unknown injuries. Police said they cited her for careless driving.Aug. 22—A handgun was reported stolen in a burglary at a Staffordshire Drive home in Pine Township. The break-in occurred between April 1 and Aug. 22.

11:05 p.m. Aug. 18—A pickup truck driven by Robert J. Buck, 40, of Boyers struck a traffic sign on Route 108 in Scott Township. The pickup continued into a yard, where it hit a gas meter and a tree. Police aid Buck was cited for a lane violation.
