6:40 p.m. Friday — Kimberly Smith, 46, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after police responded to a call of reckless driving on New Castle Road. Police found Smith in the parking lot of Alameda Plaza.
4:23 p.m. Sunday — Benjamin R. Ferringer, 22, of Fairview Township was charged with simple assault and harassment after Brittany N. Roxberry, 18, of Fairview Township accused Ferringer of pushing her and punching her in the face. He was arraigned by District Judge Pete Shaffer and placed in Butler County Jail on $5,000 bond.7:57 p.m. Saturday — Vehicles driven by Robert Phillips, 56, and Charles Keenan, 52, both of Pittsburgh, were on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township when Phillips lost control of his car. It hit a cement barrier and a piece of debris flew from his car and struck the driver's side window of Keenan's vehicle. Phillips continued into the median before coming to a stop. He was taken to UPMC Cranberry.6:40 p.m. Saturday — Lloyd Lindstrom, 54, of West Sunbury received moderate injuries when his car struck a tree on Mahood Road near Thompsontown Road in Clay Township. Lindstrom was driving a Subaru Legacy when he turned to the right and overcorrected. He was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital, then taken to Allegheny General Hospital by medical helicopter.5:54 p.m. Saturday — Vehicles driven by Frank Ortis, 46 of Mississauga, Ontario, and Louis Malone, 51, of Portersville were on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township when a deer ran on to the road. The deer struck the passenger side of Ortis' Acura. The deer flew into the air and landed on the windshield of Malone's truck. Both drivers and a passenger, Nancy Ortis, 46, of Mississauga, were taken to UPMCCranberry.7:50 a.m. Friday — While cars driven by Michele Stitt, 36, of East Brady and Patricia Dittman, 65, of East Brady were stopped on Route 68 in Oakland Township, a vehicle driven by Shirley A. Loose, 71, of Karns City, struck the back of Stitt's Chevrolet Trailblazer. The Trailblazer then struck the back of Dittman's Dodge Ram truck.
12 a.m. Sunday — David Stitt of Kittanning reported someone driving an unknown vehicle stopped at the intersection of Bunker Hill and Route 128 in North Buffalo Township. Stitt stopped behind the vehicle, which reversed, hit his car and then left. There were no injuries. Police are looking for the unidentified car.1:45 p.m. Oct. 16 — Ronald Sullivan, 53, of Harrisville was stopped on a traffic violation. During the stop police found drug paraphernalia. He has been charged with possession of paraphernalia.Sept. 24 — Owners of the County Market Store in Pine Square, Grove City, reported Shane Eric Hundley, 19, of Millburn Road, Mercer, passed four checks totaling almost $800 on an account that was closed. He will face a preliminary hearing in front of District Judge Lorinda Hinch in Mercer.2:15 a.m. Friday — Cody Lee Doverspike, 20, of Mayport entered the Sheetz in Slippery Rock and bought some items. Before leaving the store, he put other items in his bag that he did not pay for. He is charged with retail theft, underage drinking and disorderly conduct.
10:35 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Joshua Young, 19, of Chicora and a car driven by Martha Billotte, 47, of Rimersburg collided at the intersection of Route 68 and Curllsville Road in Toby Township. Young was taken to Clarion Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. His passenger, Kelly Pennisi, 23, received minor injuries. Billotte received unknown injuries. All three were wearing seat belts.Friday — Christina Heffner, 23, of Rimersburg reported the theft of a purse from her Long Lane East residence in Madison Township between 1:45 and 6:25 a.m.1 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Pearl Rawson, 45, of New Bethlehem was traveling on Route 861 in Toby Township when it went through a yard, going airborne for 18 feet and landing on a driveway before flying another 20 feet through the air, bouncing and sliding to a stop along an embankment. She was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
