1 a.m. Saturday — Kenneth Dale Wise, 33, of Butler was charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment after he allegedly pushed a woman, who was holding an infant, down a set of stairs during a domestic dispute at his Greenview Drive residence, then punched her in the face. The child was not injured.7:58 a.m. Friday — Joshua Michael Crispin, 21, of Butler was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police discovered a hypodermic needle in his possession while arresting him on a warrant at a residence on West Penn Street.4:51 a.m. Thursday — Someone broke into Butler Tires For Less on Route 8 by shattering the glass on the front door and stole an unknown amount of money from a cash box.6:47 p.m. Tuesday — Scott T. Lindsay, 25, of Butler was charged with receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct after fleeing from police responding to a report of a suspicious individual in backyards on Morton Avenue. Officers caught Lindsay on East Wayne Street and later determined he had taken a Dodge Ram pickup truck reported stolen earlier in the day in Butler Township. The truck was discovered on Freemont Street and it was turned over to Butler Township police.10:20 a.m. Tuesday — Stephanie Sleigher, 18, of Butler was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after her 2-year-old child was found sleeping on Kaufman Avenue, apparently having wandered out of the house while Sleigher slept.7 p.m. Monday — Justin Quinn Fitzpatrick, 30, of Butler was charged with theft by extortion and criminal attempt theft by extortion after he allegedly told his mother he had been kidnapped and was being held in Cranberry Township, then sent a friend to a store in Butler to collect a $500 ransom.11:48 a.m. July 30 — Vehicles driven by Donald W. Gold, 50, of Mars, Harriet A. Vater, 74, of Butler and April D. Malone, 24, of Butler collided on West Cunningham Street near Chestnut Street. None of the drivers or Malone's passenger Kelsey Nagel, 23, of Butler were injured. Malone was cited for driving without insurance.12:01 a.m. July 29 — Jared Richard Welty, 25, of Allison Park was charged with forgery, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property after he allegedly forged two checks totaling $200 belonging to Richard Guthrie of Butler, with whom he was staying.
A vehicle driven by Maureen McGreevy, 17, of Petrolia and a vehicle driven by Patricia Frazier, 61, of Butler collided on Route 356 near Route 422. Frazier was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital after complaining of neck pain. McGreevy was cited for careless driving.State Police, Butler6:40 p.m. Thursday — Heather E. Grosskopf, 28, of Evans City was charged with criminal mischief after she allegedly cut a tow strap on a truck belonging to the American Recovery Co. as her vehicle was being repossessed.4:20 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Katie L. Prestopine, 18, of New Castle and a car driven by Nicholas M. Columbus, 30, of New Castle collided on Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township. Both drivers and Prestopine's passenger, Eric M. Stoner, 24, of New Castle were uninjured. Prestopine was cited for a traffic violation.Wednesday — Someone entered the residence at 386 Brewer Road in Clinton Township, stealing assorted tools belonging to Richard Berger of Saxonburg and Randy Wloszyn of Wampum, between Tuesday and Wednesday. Anyone with information should call police at 724-284-8100.July 23 — Paul Michael Troyer of 148Z\x McGinley Road, Chicora, was charged with failure to comply with registration of sex offender requirements after he failed to notify state police within 48 hours that he had moved to that address.
