Friday — Mark A. White, 62, of Butler was charged with theft by deception after he allegedly wrote a bad check for $22 to Oesterling Lawn and Garden on Feb. 25. Oesterling is seeking $83 in damages to cover the returned check and associated fees.
8 p.m. Wednesday — A tractor trailer driven by Sandeep Gill, 28, of Brampton, Ontario, crashed into a median and rolled onto its side on Interstate 79 near Exit 88 in Lancaster Township. Gill was taken by ambulance to UPMC Passavant Cranberry with minor injuries.7:40 p.m. Wednesday — A pickup truck driven by James G. Wagner, 39, of Butler and an SUV driven by Mary F. Fierst, 53, of Butler collided at the intersection of Route 68 and Route 38 in Summit Township. Fierst suffered a minor injury.12:24 a.m. Sept. 10 — Sennie A. Northime, 26, of Chicora was charged with several traffic violations in connection with a hit-and-run accident on West Slippery Rock Street in Chicora on Sept. 10. The car she was allegedly driving struck two parked vehicles, ripping its own front passenger side tire off the rim, then continued onward until cornered by witnesses in the parking lot of Chicora Elementary School.
12:12 a.m. Sept. 9 — Kirk Rice, 51, of Sharpsburg was charged with false identification to law enforcement, driving on a suspended license, driving without a license, habitual offender charge and speeding after he allegedly drove about 80 mph in a 65 mph zone on Route 28 north in Buffalo Township, Butler County, then claimed to be his 53-year-old brother during the traffic stop.
