2:54 p.m. Sunday — Sport utility vehicles driven by Steve Turner, 40, of Center Township and Lauren Karch, 26, of Butler Township collided on snow and ice-covered Brown Avenue. Karch was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for unknown injuries.
10:28 p.m. Jan. 16 — Norman Smilowitz, 40, of Sarver was arrested for driving under the influence after his truck crashed on Woodhaven Drive. Smilowitz also was cited for driving too fast for conditions and careless driving.4:30 p.m. Jan. 15 — Daniel Adamik, 39, of Sarver is accused of trespassing at Buffalo Elementary School. Police said Adamik is not permitted on Freeport School District property. He is charged with defiant trespass.
Tuesday — Police arrested Daniel Eric Strickler Jr., 20, of Butler Township after he allegedly fought with officers sent to his mother's Evans City Road home, which he is accused of ransacking.Strickler's mother called police just after midnight Sunday and reported she had come home to find her house "totally torn apart,"court documents said, and her son passed out in bed."Strickler had for whatever reason broken almost every piece of furniture in the house," a police affidavit said, "and what he did not break was overturned and ripped up."The defendant's mother told police she wanted her son out of the house or "if possible thrown in jail,"documents said.Officers found Strickler in a back bedroom and he was "visibly intoxicated." They told him repeatedly to get up and get dressed but he refused and cursed at the officers.Police finally had to handcuff Strickler, who allegedly tried to fight with the officers. He is charged with resisting arrest, defiant trespass and underage drinking.Tuesday — Police filed felony drug and other charges against John T. Tirk, 32, of Butler after he was allegedly caught Jan. 7 with a large rock of suspected crack cocaine at the Lyndora Hotel.Tirk is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
7:47 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Colleen McAllister, 32, of Chicora crashed into an embankment and rolled onto its roof on Route 38 in Oakland Township.2:55 p.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicledriven by David S. Grantner, 21, of Mount Lebanon, Allegheny County, crashed into a utility pole along Harmony Road near Mercer Road in Mercer Township.
