2:09 a.m. Monday — John C. Briney Jr., 52, of Jefferson Township was arrested for driving under the influence on East Wayne Street. Briney also was cited for disregarding traffic lanes and driving at an unsafe speed.2:44 a.m. Saturday — Shawn Pestok, 37, of McKees Rocks, Allegheny County, was arrested for DUI on West New Castle Street. Pestok also was cited for not using turn signals and possession of a controlled substance.
2:41 p.m. Saturday — Michael Carnahan, 44, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after his car struck a utility pole along Route 8 just north of the Picklegate Bridge. The car continued into an embankment and rolled over, police said. In addition to drunken driving, Carnahan is charged with driving with a suspended license and driving too fast for conditions.During their investigation, police discovered that two passengers in the vehicle had left the scene. Police found Kimberly Workman, 43, and Daniel Fry, 48, both of Butler, a short time later at Cooledge and High streets. Police said they cited both suspects with public drunkenness.12:46 p.m. Saturday — A 15-year-old girl is accused of hitting her mother during a domestic dispute at their home in Lyndora. The teen, who was turned over to Butler County Children Youth Services, is charged with harassment, according to a police report.
8:40 a.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Eric W. Griffiths, 34, of Chicora struck a truck driven by Dennis J. Zeigler, 52, of Curwensville, Clearfiield County, on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Griffiths, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury, but refused medical treatment.6:45 p.m. Monday — Robert J. Mayer, 38, of Wexford lost control of his pickup truck on a patch of ice and hit a car and sport utility vehicle on Brownsdale Road in Forward Township. Kendee K. Connor, 18, of Renfrew was driving the car. The SUV driver's identity was not available in a police news release.9 a.m. Monday — Erik A. Braun, 21, of Butler lost control of his car on ice and struck a dirt embankment and sign at Kiester Road and Stahlman Lane in Slippery Rock Township.8:45 p.m. Sunday — Two Butler teenagers were hurt when their sport utility vehicle struck a tree along snow-covered Whitestown Road in Connoquenessing Township. Danielle E. Lloyd, 19, the driver, and Brianna L. Harvey, 19, a passenger, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Both women were wearing seat belts.9:21 p.m. Friday — An unidentified vehicle struck a gas meter on Route 228 in Clinton Township. The unknown driver did not stop after the crash.
4:13 p.m. Feb. 2 — Two Grove City men were hurt, one seriously, in a two-vehicle crash on snow-covered Route 258 near the Mercer County-Butler County line in Liberty Township.The crash happened when Mark A. Revesz, 20. lost control of the sport utility vehicle he was driving and collided with a car driven by David T. Hewitt, 23, according to a police report.Following the collision, the car struck a vehicle driven by Corey J. Taggart, 32, of Slippery Rock.Hewitt suffered a major injury, police said. Revesz, had minor injuries. Both men, who were wearing seat belts, were taken to unidentified hospitals.Police said Revesz was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road.
