Charles E. “Chuck” Freeman
Charles E. “Chuck” Freeman, 91, of Cabot passed away on Saturday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.
He was born May 10, 1927, in Butler, and was a son of the late Joseph Freeman and the late Nellie Fuhs Freeman.
Chuck was a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy.
He went on to obtain his bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.
Chuck worked as an engineer and manager for West Penn Power and First Energy at four power generation stations in Western Pennsylvania, retiring on Sept. 1, 1990.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the military police in France and Germany during World War II.
Chuck was a member of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church and a life member of both the VFW Post 249 and American Legion Post 47.
He enjoyed bowling and golf.
He is survived by his son, John B. Freeman and his wife, Becky, of Sugar Land, Texas; two daughters, Ann Dumbaugh and her husband, Richard, of Butler, and Kathryn Freeman-Jones and her husband, Jeffery, of Midlothian, Va.; two grandchildren, Charles E. Dumbaugh and his wife, Jennifer, and Graham M. Jones and his wife, Casey; and two great-grandchildren, Marek G. Dumbaugh and Hadley Grace Jones.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Pollock Freeman, whom he married on Dec. 27, 1949, and who passed away on March 13, 2014; one grandson; two brothers; and one sister.
FREEMAN — Friends of Charles E. “Chuck” Freeman, who died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, will be received from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be held immediately following at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Merry H.
