As members of a small group, “The Friends of the Old Stone House” aka “FOSH,” we are extremely concerned about the closing of this historical Butler County site.

This group did the majority of the work conducting the programs at the site, namely the summer program about early American life and Halloween story time and early American Christmas. This was done in cooperation with the history department with Slippery Rock University.

An outdoor oven was constructed by these volunteers and some landscaping was done.

We were hoping for some help from a local group or company to donate time and/or material to repair the spring house that has roof damage by a falling tree limb.

We also want to thank the local crafters and musicians for their time and help during the programs.

We would be very happy to see the community get behind the Old Stone House and get it opened back up. We understand the financial crunch that universities have and hope for a way to reopen this site.
