Army Pvt. Frank Morter has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, he studied the Army mission, history, tradition, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills.

Morter is the son of Vikki J. and stepson of Raymond R. Fleske, and grandson of Neal W. Shaffer, all of Butler.

He is a 2014 graduate of Butler High School.
