Jailed couple awaiting hearings after drug raid

A couple remains behind bars on $100,000 bond each in connection with last week's drug raid at their Butler home, which turned up hundreds of stamp bags of suspected opioids and thousands of dollars in currency, authorities said.

The Butler County Drug Task Force arrested both Cody U. Vizi, 32, and Stephanie R. Miller, 38, on felony drug charges after executing a search warrant Friday at their house on Morton Avenue.

Officers found the pair at the rental home. Miller's two children, ages 6 and 12, were also there. The defendants were detained and the children turned over to family members, investigators said.Members of the county's emergency services unit assisted the task force in serving the warrant shortly after 6 a.m. Vizi and Miller were found in the second-floor bedroom, which contains a walk-in closet.In the bedroom and closet, the task force said, officers seized 210 stamp bags of suspected heroin/fentanyl, drug-packaging materials, $2,085 in cash, four cell phones and an airsoft pistol.County Detective Tim Fennell, who heads the task force, said the investigation began in mid-October, and included controlled drug buys at the house. The investigation, he noted, is continuing.Vizi and Miller were both arraigned on felony charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled and conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Each defendant is in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bond while awaiting their preliminary hearings Monday. Online court records did not indicate if they have attorneys.
