3:34 p.m. Monday — Christopher L. Cubbage, 26, of Butler faces criminal and other charges following a traffic stop on North Seventh Avenue.Police stopped the car Cubbage was driving after an officer found that its license plate belonged to a sport utility vehicle. Later, police also found suspected crack cocaine on the driver's side floor.He is charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, driving without a proper license plate and two other traffic violations, according to a police report.Police said the car's owner, Carrie J. Cubbage, 24, of Butler was cited for permitting her car to be driven while not insured.Monday — Police reported that Mitchell R. Thrower, 21, of Clinton Township was more than two times over the legal limit for alcohol when his sport utility vehicle nearly collided with an ambulance on an emergency call March 6.The Butler Ambulance Service vehicle had its lights and siren on about 1:15 a.m. when the near collision happened on Main Street near Brady Street. According to a police report, an officer stopped Thrower's SUV at South Main and Campbell streets after seeing it weaving on the road.He was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. Police Monday got the results of a blood test that showed Thrower's blood-alcohol level was 0.189 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Police said he is charged with driving under the influence and not pulling over for an emergency vehicle. Kyle E. Toth, 19, of Jefferson Township, a passenger in the SUV, was cited for underage drinking, the police report said.
11:18 a.m. Friday — Cars driven by Nicole Rusk, 20, and Michele Snyder, 20, both of Butler collided on Whitestown Road near the Lyndora Post Office. Snyder was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital after complaining of head pain.3:51 p.m. Thursday — Cars driven by Joan Solari, 64, of Lyndora and Dean Hearth, 47, of Butler collided at Hansen Avenue and Whitestown Road. Police cited Solari for making an improper left turn.11:58 p.m. March 18 — James R. Snyder, 45, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after his car struck a 16-year-old pedestrian in the 500 block of Fairground Hill Road. Police said Snyder drove away after hitting the youth, who was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for leg and ankle injuries, and released.Butler police later stopped Snyder's car in the city. In addition to DUI, Snyder is charged with accidents involving injury, hit-and-run, failure to stop and render aid after an accident, failure to immediately notify police of an accident, reckless driving, careless driving, driving at an unsafe speed, driving without insurance and driving an unregistered vehicle.
4:28 p.m. Monday — Robert W. Boyd, 53, of East Butler was hurt when the car he was driving struck a mailbox and embankment along Fisher Road in Jefferson Township. Boyd, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury.10:209 p.m. March 27 — Curtis M. Yoder, 22, of Cokeburg, Washington County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car struck a ditch and rolled over on Interstate 79 in Worth Township.3:25 p.m. Sunday — Four people were hurt in a two-car crash in Forward Township.The crash happened when cars driven by Paul L. Kennedy, 70, of Evans City and Gerard Guglielmo, 50, of New York City collided at Route 68 and Buhl Road. Kennedy and his passenger Rose A. Kennedy, 68, of Evans City, and Guglielmo and his passenger, Jason Novak, 39, of New York, suffered minor injuries.Paul Kennedy, police said, faces a ticket for failing to yield to traffic.4:55 a.m. Saturday — David C. Watterson, 48, of Chicora was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Iman and East Danville roads in Donegal Township.1:30 a.m. Saturday — A man is suspected of displaying a handgun during an argument at The Heights Apartments on Stillwater Lane in Slippery Rock Township.Police said the suspect, described as white, between 18 and 22 with short dark hair, pulled the gun from his waistband and showed it to 18-year-old Kirk Nypaver, who fled the area. Anyone with information about the gunman is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.12:22 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Joshua D. Lynn, 23, of Grove City crashed into an embankment and rolled onto its side on Harmony Road in Mercer Township. Police said Lynn faces a ticket for driving at an unsafe speed.12:05 a.m. Saturday — Shawn Richard Gray, 44, of Butler was arrested for allegedly hitting his girlfriend about the head and pulling her hair in a domestic dispute on Lakewood Drive in Center Township. Gray is charged with simple assault. A police report did not identify the woman.March 28 — Vanessa E. Morrison, 20, of Slippery Rock is accused of removing and taking a piece of angle iron from Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad property about one mile north of Harmony Road in Mercer Township.The alleged theft happened, police said, after Morrison drove around a gated area and traveled for about one mile along the railroad tracks.
3:50 a.m. Sunday — Michael L. Hite, 36, of Worthington was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car struck a pine tree along Old Butler Road near Pleasant View Drive in East Franklin Township. Hite, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered unknown injuries.Sunday — Someone slashed four tires of a Worthington man's pickup truck on Spruce Lane in Worthington. The vandalism, which caused an estimated $500 in damage, happened between 10:45 p.m. Saturday and 7:45 a.m. Sunday.
Monday — A Garmin global positioning system device, valued at $300, was stolen from a car on Route 19 in Springfield Township. The theft happened between 9:20 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m. Monday.
Friday — A 7-year-old boy was reported assaulted on Petrolia Road in Fairview Township, Butler County. The alleged assault happened between March 28 and Friday. Police said they have a suspect, who they did not identify.
