Planning board OKs new restaurant
CRANBERRY TWP — A new restaurant on Route 19 received approval from the township planning commission this week and groundbreaking on it could occur in several months, according to officials.
The sandwich and soup shop called Jason’s Deli will replace the former Kings Restaurant in the Cranberry Mall. It could employ up to 80 full and part-time workers.
The developers plan to raze the building and rebuild.
If the township supervisors approve the project, the developers could break ground in early winter, weather permitting. If that schedule holds, the restaurant could be open by next summer.
The project will next be voted on by the township supervisors later this month.
Jason’s Deli is a chain based in Texas with 240 restaurants in 28 states. The one here will be the first in Pennsylvania.
