Knoch’s baseball team rounded out a two-game, section series sweep against Freeport with a commanding 7-0 victory at Pullman Park Friday.

Jacob Wagner gave up four hits and rung up eight in tossing a complete game for the Knights. Both Eli Sutton and Isaac Roddy tallied a pair of hits in the win.

Knoch (4-2) sits a game behind North Catholic in the standings.

Softball

Freeport fell victim to the long ball at nearby Highlands Friday, bowing to the Golden Rams by a 5-1 decision. The hosts belted three homers.

Four different Yellowjackets notched a base hit, including Jenna Selker and Sydney Selker. Savanna Urik and Natalie King both had a double.

Sydney Selker struck out eight batters in six innings of work in the circle.

Oil City 13, A-C Valley 3 — The Falcons surrendered five runs in the first inning to Oil City, leading to this six-inning loss.

Alivia Hartzell doubled and drove in two runs for the Falcons (2-2).

Boys Volleyball

Seneca Valley dropped its first match of the campaign in three closely-contested sets at rival North Allegheny. The Raiders (8-1, 6-1) lost 26-24, 34-32, 25-22.

SV’s Nathan Degraaf had 18 kills and Dawson Ward another 14. Aiden Uher tallied 34 assists.

Girls Lacrosse

Evelynn Vissari scored two goals Thursday night, but Butler dropped an 18-5 decision to Shady Side Academy.

Khloe Huba, Piper Geibel and Becca Allison scored one goal each for the Golden Tornado. Lauren LeGrand made seven saves.
