5:30 p.m. Sunday — A vehicle driven by Jason Lavery, 32, of Fredonia, Mercer County, struck the rear of a motorcycle driven by Francis Hutcheson, 54, of Butler on a Route 422 exit ramp onto Route 8. The motorcycle was idling at a stop sign waiting to merge onto Route 8. Hutcheson, who was wearing a helmet, received minor injuries. Lavery was cited for careless driving.2:58 p.m. Sunday — A vehicle driven by Elizabeth Walker, 25, of Baden and a vehicle driven by Erin Snyder, 28, of Butler collided at the intersection of Route 68 and Duffy Road. Snyder was taken by private vehicle to Butler Memorial Hospital for examination. Walker was cited for going through a red light.3:15 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Michael Cousins, 44, of Evans City struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Joshua Robinson, 20, of Prospect that stopped for a school bus with flashing yellow lights on Whitestown Road. Cousins' vehicle then struck the Valley Lines bus before hitting a utility pole. No one was injured. Cousins was cited for overtaking or meeting a school bus, not driving at a safe speed and careless driving. Although it's not illegal to pass a school bus with flashing yellow lights, motorists are required to drive cautiously and be prepared to stop.Friday — Jennifer Smith, 20, of Butler was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft and receiving stolen property in connection with a March 29 burglary at 431 Bessemer Ave. in which two prom dresses, sports cards, a cordless drill and portable speakers were taken. The total value of the missing items is $5,795.
2 a.m. Sunday — Allen Cunningham, 42, of Valencia was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop along Route 228 near Logan Road.
6:06 p.m. Monday — Keith Beabout, 40, of East Brady was arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 268 near Poplar Road in Karns City.8 a.m. Monday — Someone spray painted various words and drawings on the playground fixtures and sidewalk at Clearfield Elementary School in Clearfield Township between 4 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Monday. Anyone with information should call police at 724-284-8100.6 p.m. Friday — Dameine Austin, 34, of Butler was charged with violating a protection from abuse order for allegedly getting too close to a 28-year-old Pittsburgh woman and simple assault and harassment for allegedly hitting a 33-year-old Pittsburgh woman in the face at a baseball field in Laura Doerr Park in
April 15 — Someone stole several tools belonging to Gregory A. Kost of Portersville from his vehicle while it was parked along Moraine Drive in Muddy Creek Township.
March 7 — Someone stole a check book belonging to Amanda Lynn McAnany from her home along Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, writing numerous unauthorized checks between Feb. 20 and March 7.
