Butler PoliceThursday — Three unlocked vehicles were broken into overnight, and property was taken. Among the items stolen was a camouflage Buckmaster bow with a black strap and adjustable sights, worth $250, that was taken from a pickup truck in the 100 block of Pillow Street.Additionally, an Insight global positioning system device and Fuji camera, valued at a combined $350, and personal information were taken from a vehicle in the 100 block of Fourth Avenue; and an Audiofram speaker box, worth $100, was taken from a vehicle in the 100 block of Goldwood Avenue.Wednesday — Police filed criminal charges against Kathryn A. Nagle, 40, in connection with an underage drinking party allegedly held Aug. 25 at her home in the 300 block of East Locust Street.Police began investigating the case Nov. 19 when someone came into the station and showed officers a video that depicted girls drinking alcohol and a girl smoking marijuana.The investigation found that Nagle had provided the alcohol and marijuana, as well as her home, to the girls.Nagle is charged with corruption of minors, child endangerment and possession of a small amount of marijuana, and three counts of furnishing alcohol to minors.
Butler Twp. PoliceMonday — Police charged Devin L. Gilmore, 19, of Grove City and a 17-year-old boy with shoplifting $404 worth of merchandise from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons on Oct. 11. The pair took several video games and DVDs, an Apple iPod and other items.Gilmore is charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property and corruption of minors. The boy, who police did not identify, faces theft-related charges in juvenile court.
State Police, ButlerWednesday — Police filed bad check charges against Christopher P. Kelley, 32, of West Sunbury, who is accused of passing two checks Oct. 26 and 28 that were written on a closed account and used to buy $170 in cigarettes at Ball’s Beer Distributor in Oakland Township.
State Police, Clarion1:56 a.m. Thursday — Sherry L. Vasbinder, 47, of Rimersburg was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 68 at Doc’s Tavern in Toby Township.Monday — A thief stole $50 after breaking into an unlocked car at a Route 68 home in Toby Township. The theft happened between 2 and 6 p.m.
State Police, Franklin10:47 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Adam S. Nickels, 22, of Deshler, Ohio, and a tractor-trailer driven by Randall L. Nickel, 56, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, collided on Interstate 80 in Clinton Township, Venango County. Nickels was cited for a lane violation.
State Police, Mercer6:35 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Henry D. Vansteenberg, 46, of Gibsonia struck a deer on Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township.2:45 a.m. Sunday — Scott A. Kay, 40, of Grove City was hurt when he lost control of his speeding pickup truck and rolled over several times down an embankment along Interstate 79 in Plan Grove City. Kay, who suffered moderate injuries, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
