10:01 p.m. Friday — Cars driven by Gina Spagnola, 22, and Kelly Heckert, 37, both of Butler collided at South Chestnut Street and Hazel Avenue. Heckert was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for serious injuries. Police said Spagnola was cited for a stop sign violation.

10:36 p.m. Aug. 30 — Joshua Stewart, no age given, of Clinton Township was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana on Sarver Road.

10:08 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Rex Allen Huselton, 45, of North Washington struck a cow on Route 38 in Washington Township. Huselton suffered minor injuries. Apolice report did not indicate the fate of the cow, which had escaped a fenced area and wandered onto the road.5:45 a.m. Saturday — Anwar M. Louis, 37, of Pittsburgh is accused of stealing a Butler woman's purse on Route 528 at the Moraine bridge in Franklin Township. Police said Louis was arraigned on a theft charge and placed in the Butler County Prison on $1,000 bond.A police report noted the purse was later recovered in weeds near where it was stolen.7:28 p.m. Friday — Amotorcycle driven by Joshua A. Barton, 24, of Cabot crashed into a guardrail on Route 528 near Upper Harmony Road in Forward Township. Barton, who was wearing a helmet, suffered minor injuries. Police said Barton was cited for driving too fast for conditions.Thursday — Aradio was stolen from a vehicle on East Butler Road in East Butler. The theft occurred between Aug. 25 and Thursday. Alex Loose, 30, of East Brady owns the stolen property, valued at $500.4:50 a.m. Aug. 31 — Crystal D. Hershey, 28, of Butler suffered serious injuries when the car she was driving spun out of control, rolled over and struck a tree along Route 488 near Kennedy Road in Prospect. Hershey was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh; her condition was not known this morning.

10:53 a.m. Sunday — Gina Secen, no age given, of Pittsburgh swerved her car to avoid a cat, and crashed into a Jersey barrier on Route 422 near Bunker Hill Road in North Buffalo Township. Police said Secen, who suffered minor injuries, was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Saturday — Two boys who escaped the George Junior Republic juvenile detention facility in Pine Township early Friday morning were located the following day.Police said the youths, 15 and 16, left the facility about 2:25 a.m. Friday. By 10:45 p.m. Saturday, authorities had captured both boys.

8:38 p.m. Sunday — Gary William Fair, 36, of Butler is accused of violating a protection from abuse order for allegedly contacting 25-year-old Kimberly Jo Shaffer at her Studebaker Road home in Perry Township.
