Donald F. Brothers

Donald F. Brothers, 93, of South Buffalo Township passed away at 5:23 a.m. Friday while in the company of family members at Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot.

Donald was born in Freeport on April 16, 1916, the son of the late Phillip and Wilda Mae (Bell) Brothers. He was the widower of Joan (Laux) Brothers, who passed away in 2007.

Don served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines.

Don was a payroll clerk at Schenley Distillery in Leechburg, retiring in 1981. He had also worked for a number of years at Kellogg American in Oakmont.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and spending family vacations in Tionesta. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Don is survived by his two sons, Thomas (Leisa) Brothers of Buffalo Township and Kevin (Pam) Brothers of South Buffalo Township and his daughter, Kathy (Mark) Borland of Idaho Falls, Idaho.

He also is survived by five grandchildren, Matthew, Samantha and Kristen Brothers, and Josh and Faith Borland.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Harold Brothers, and his two sisters, Elain Kuhn and Phyllis Beale.

<B>Brothers</B> — Family and friends of Donald F. Brothers, who died Friday, March 12, 2010, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at <B>Redmond Funeral Home</B> 524 High St., Freeport. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James F. Neal of Trinity Lutheran Church of Freeport officiating. Burial service will be held with military honors at St. Mary's Cemetery, Freeport.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice 134 Marwood Rd.
