2:21 a.m. Saturday — Dennis Lee Burry, 58, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence and driving without headlights on Mercer Street.6 p.m. Friday — Police said they had to use a Taser to subdue a man accused of charging an officer, who found the suspect banging on a door of an East Jefferson Street home.An officer threw Matthew S. Waldor, 46, no known address, to the ground but the defendant continued to struggle. The officer then fired his Taser and then handcuffed the suspect.Waldor was arraigned on charges of resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.11:02 a.m. Friday — Sarah Al-Anazi, 18, of Butler suffered minor injuries when she accidentally ran into a slow-moving minivan on West Cunningham Street. Witnesses told police the teen ran into the street and into the driver's side of the van driven by John Eagal, 71, of Butler. Al-Anazi had a scrape on her right elbow and complained of leg pain but refused medical treatment.
9:27 a.m. Sunday — A car driven by Dorothy Gunther, 85, of Cabot and a sport utility vehicle driven by William H. Conrad, 74, of Sarver collided on Route 356 near Marwood Road in Jefferson Township.Conrad was taken to ACMH Hospital in Kittanning with moderate injuries, and later flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh; his condition was not known this morning.Police said Gunther, who suffered minor injuries, was cited for a left-turn violation.2:50 a.m. Sunday — Alvin John Owens Jr., 50, of Pittsburgh was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township.12:15 a.m. Sunday — Susan Allison, 47, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of DUI after her car crashed into a ditch and overturned on West Park Road near Corry Road in Worth Township. Allison suffered minor injuries.10:45 a.m. Saturday — Two people were hurt when a car driven by Andrew M. Potyka Jr., 72, of Butler hit an embankment and struck several trees along Route 38 in Oakland Township. Potyka and a passenger, Patricia Potyka, 71, of Butler were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unspecified injuries.7:40 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Kali Collins, 19, of Evans City struck a utility pole along Shannon Road in Connoquenessing Township. Police said Collins was cited for careless driving.5:30 a.m. Saturday — Rochelle Kidd, 20, of Lyndora was hurt when her car struck an embankment on Currie Road near Servant's Path in Worth Township. Kidd was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.Saturday — Steve Plavi, 49, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Herman Road near Hamilton Road in Clearfield Township.Saturday — Kurt Szymanski of Saxonburg reported that an unknown thief stole a Parker brand leaf vacuum from the back of his truck at a parking lot on Knoch Road in Clinton Township. The red and black vacuum with a 15-foot attached hose is valued at $1,900.Also taken from a trailer at the same location was an Echo leaf blower valued at $500. The thefts occurred between 4:10 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday.Saturday — About $25 and a center console was stolen from an unlocked car at the Marwood Road home of Jackiynn Porter in Winfield Township.7:40 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Darryl Armstrong, 42, of Harrisville was unable to negotiate a curve on Shields Road in Mercer Township and left the road going into a ditch. Police said Armstrong left before police got there and that alcoholic beverages were found at the scene and in the car. Charges are pending.6:20 p.m. Friday — John I. Mertz, 58, of Rochester, N.Y., was not injured when he struck a deer with his car as he was headed south on Interstate 79.11:50 a.m. Friday — A car driven by George R. Larimer, 72, of St. Petersburg hit the rear of a car driven by Jeremy C. Mechlin, 26, of Parker on Route 268 in Parker near Whyte's Comet Market.8 a.m. Friday — Thomas Watterson, 41, of East Butler reported someone used his debit card at Walgreen's stores in Florida for purchases totaling $107.7:35 p.m. Friday — Neither Assad Panah, 74, nor his passenger Susan Panah, 41, both of Bradford, was hurt when the vehicle they were driving in hit a deer as they were headed north on Interstate 79.10 a.m. Friday— John Oesterling, 61, of Oakland Township reported someone took a hydraulic log splitter, a hydraulic pressure pump, two fenders for a pickup truck, and two porta-power levered pumps from a home along Whitmire Drive. The items are valued at more than $2,000.Friday — Someone took five catalytic converters from a state impound lot on Currie Road, Muddy Creek Township.2:55 p.m. Wednesday — Alan Romatowski, 57, of Butler suffered minor injuries when the motorcycle he was driving hit a car driven by Scott Huff, 20, of Butler as Romatowski was making a left turn on Route 8 in Middlesex Township near Terek's Garage. Romatowski was cited for a turning violation.7:41 a.m. Tuesday — Braden N. Bunnell, 31, of Butler hit the rear of a car driven by Ronald A. Weleski, 60, of Butler as Weleski was stopped on Route 68 in Evans City. Bunnell was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.6 a.m. Tuesday — Paula Lunz, 37, and Nicholas Sarver, 44, both of Fairview Township reported that their vehicles were damaged by a paintball.
Saturday — Authorities are searching for a 17-year-old boy who left his father's home on High Street in Freeport between 3 and 4 p.m. and did not immediately return. The teen, Andrew Charles Hamer, is listed as a missing person.Hamer is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall and about 180 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair, and his lip is pierced with a ring. Anyone with information about the teen's whereabouts is asked to call the barracks at 724-543-2011.4:15 p.m. Thursday — An Armstrong County man was hurt when he was hit by the mirror of an unidentified blue flat-bed truck on Cadogan-Slate Lick Road in North Buffalo Township. Police said Robert J. Fortuna Jr., 36, of Apollo, who was working off the road, was knocked to the ground.Fortuna was taken to ACMH Hospital in Kittanning with moderate injuries. Police said the truck did not stop after the accident and continued driving south.
11:57 p.m. Saturday — A juvenile driver and his three passengers all were injured when a car driven by the Grove City juvenile left Route 173 near Old Mill Road in Liberty Township and struck a tree stump. The vehicle rolled onto its roof and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. Police identified the passengers as Patrick J. Rodgers of New Castle, Eric S. Hunter of Grove City, and another male juvenile of Grove City. Police said alcohol and excessive speed were contributing factors and that the investigation continues.11:57 p.m. Saturday — Stacy Ann Richards, 53, of Lewisburg suffered minor injuries when the car she was driving struck debris on Route 173 in Liberty Township from another vehicle crash moments earlier. She was taken to Grove City Medical Center by ambulance.
