SUMMIT TWP — Construction on a bridge on Bonniebrook Road that spans Bonnie Brook is scheduled to begin the first week of June. The existing bridge, just north of Route 422, is structurally insufficient.

During construction, traffic in the area will be detoured from Route 422 to Route 68 and onto Grant Avenue in East Butler.

The project is expected to be completed by mid-August, but could be backed up based on weather, PennDOT spokeswoman Deborah Casedei said Monday in a news release.

The local bridge is one of 558 being replaced in PennDOT’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
