PennDOT District 10 will replace two bridges in Marion and Mercer townships starting Tuesday that carry Boyers Road over McMurray Run, the north branch of Slippery Rock Creek, and Slippery Rock Creek.

The road will be closed from Harrisville Road to Black Road while work is done on the Slippery Rock Creek Bridge.

The road will be closed from Wick Road to Rihel Road as work continues on the McMurray Run Bridge.

The marked detour will use Route 308 to Route 58 to Black Road and Route 308 to Route 58 to Route 8.

These roads will be closed through Oct. 26.

HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Optometric Association presented state Rep. Jim Marshall (R-14th) with the 2018 Distinguished Legislator Award for his legislative efforts to the field of optometry.Last fall, Marshall's legislation, which included optometrists in the list of medical providers who may certify a handicapped plate or placard for a person with a disability, was signed into law.“Ensuring our experts in eye and vision care have the ability to certify a disability placard for our visually impaired citizens was a commonsense step toward ensuring a greater quality of life for all,” Marshall said.The Distinguished Legislator Award is given to elected state legislators who work to champion the cause of optometry and vision care in Pennsylvania.

The Butler Transit Authority will not be operating Monday in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.Regular bus service will resume on Tuesday.
